Estoril and Cascais are two beach villages. Both became very famous at the time of the Second World War, when many royal families, for example the Spanish, Italian and Hungarian chose these Portuguese villages to live. During that time, fantastic houses were built near the sea, which gives the whole region a huge charm.
This area is called the Portuguese Sun Coats, a name that derives from the fact that almost every day the sun shines. The sea has an intense color and the fragrant aroma of sea water is always present. For this reason you will find here the ideal place to spend an excellent day with your friends or family, you can travel several kilometers always by the sea. You will find several beaches where you can swim and you will discover great restaurants for lunch or to make a few stops to drink a beer or to try a good “vinho verde” (green wine).
This tour is always done on flat terrain, so you can do it with any bike. You can go from Lisbon to Cascais by bicycle (+/- 25 km), it is a tour almost always on flat tracks, by the sea and very beautiful. You can also choose to put the bicycle on the train and take the tour only in this area, between Estoril and Praia do Guincho, passing through Boca do Inferno (Mouth of the Hell).
If it is a beautiful day, as is normal in this place, you will spend unforgettable moments!
