Belém Bike Tour – Reviews (July 2024)

It was with this tour, between the city center of Lisbon and the historic area of Belém that we started this project.

After a few years and maintaining the same Free Tour concept, this continues to be the most popular of all our experiences.

The popularity of this tour, which is an excellent introduction to the city of Lisbon and its history, is fundamentally due to 8 factors:

1 - allows you to visit a big part of the city center in just 4 hours and travel around 10 km to Belém, always having the wonderful scenery provided by the Tagus River nearby;

2 – is a circular route and passes by some of the city's greatest symbols, such as Alfama, Praça do Comércio, Cais do Sodré, the 25 April Bridge, the Jerónimos Monastery, the Belém Tower, the Monument to the Discoveries and MAAT;

3 - the stop in Belém, to taste one of the most famous specialties of Portuguese cuisine (Pastel de Belém), without having to wait long in lines, is much appreciated by everyone;

4 – despite being around 20 km long, this is a flat, easy and safe circuit, so you don't need to be a great cyclist to enjoy this experience, which is why people of all ages participate;

5 - it is done at a moderate and relaxed pace, while cycling and getting to know Lisbon everyone has fun;

6 - it's free, our guides are volunteers, so people only pay what they think is fair and what they can afford, which makes it accessible for everyone;

7 - the bicycle is an eco-friendly means of transport, which is why participation in this experience is also to everyone's liking;

8 - participating in this tour is a great help in planning other days in our city, our guides give a lot of information about the places to visit, how to get around the city and also about restaurants.

Many people have participated in this experience over the years, some more than once, and the comments/reviews we received are extremely positive, both on Google, TripAdvisor/Viator, Get Your Guide or Airbnb, where more than 2800 reviews were made, the average of which is extraordinarily positive - 4.91 in a maximum of 5.

It is a must tour on you first day in Lisbon.

The tour takes you from Lisbon center to Belem along the waterfront visiting all the important places along the way.

Miguel was a very good guide: personable, friendly. He told us many interesting stories about places we visited.

He also gave us a few excellent recommendations regarding the access to the beach, good place for Fado, or a boat cruise to see the sunset.

I highly recommend this tour.
